Jaffery (Partner) is a registered patent attorney whose practice focuses on intellectual property protection in a number of technology areas, such as computer hardware/software, communications and networks, electronics, entertainment and film, green technology, mechanical sciences, applied physics, and telecommunications. Aslam has worked with numerous clients, both domestic and foreign, ranging from industry leaders to startups to solo inventors.

HOWARD S. HAMILTON

Howard Hamilton (Partner) is a registered patent attorney in practice since 2012. Howard is licensed to practice in California and before the United States Patent and Trademark Offices. Howard has prepared and prosecuted patent applications for processor, memory, storage, network, and operating system related technologies. Prior to becoming an attorney, Howard worked as a computer engineer for Intel Corporation developing graphics drivers for integrated and embedded graphics products. 

SOHEILA AMIRI

Soheila has an in-depth knowledge of the technology sector fueled by over 30 years of
experience in all manners of software development with a rare specialty in the software and network security fields. Before attending law school, she worked as a software engineer for top technology software houses, working in various capacities, including test engineer, software developer,  product security certification manager, technologist, and patent portfolio manager for top fortune companies.

HANG GAO

Hang’s practice focuses on intellectual property law with a concentration in patent
counseling. Hang’s patent practice primarily focuses on the electrical and computer
science arts. She provides a broad spectrum of patent-related services, including the
preparation and prosecution of patent applications (both U.S. and international),
invention mining, patent validity and infringement analysis and opinions, freedom to
operate analysis, IP due diligence work, IP licensing, and strategic IP counseling.

MARK L. WATSON

Mark Watson (Partner) serves clients ranging from Fortune 50 companies to small start-up businesses in providing patent and copyright related services. Mark is a registered patent attorney with a practice covering a broad range of technologies, including computer hardware/software, high-speed production printing, image processing, memory devices, processor architecture, semiconductor processing and packaging, augmented and virtual reality and medical devices. 

JED W. CAVEN

Jed Caven (Partner) is a registered patent attorney whose practice is focused on patent preparation and prosecution in technology areas including computer hardware and software, voice and data networking applications, telecommunications, cellular networks, semiconductor processing and inspection, medical devices, and optics. Prior to attending law school, Jed worked as a software engineer developing control software for automated manufacturing equipment and facilities.

MICHAEL A. DESANCTIS

Mike’s patent preparation and prosecution experience includes U.S. and foreign patent matters in diverse technology areas including, computer hardware architecture, networking, network security (e.g., User Entity Behavior Analytics (UEBA), anti-virus software, firewall functionality, Network Access Control (NAC), sandboxing, Data Leak Protection (DLP), spam filtering, Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) mitigation and the like), database applications, enterprise software, and more.

DANIELLE K. MORROW

Danielle Morrow is a registered patent attorney whose work focuses on drafting patent applications and office action responses (both domestic and foreign) in a variety of technologies including application services, software security, hardware, user interface functionality, digital assistant technology (e.g., speech recognition, language understanding), search engines, network communications, operating systems, parallelization of code, and content creation.

PAUL A. MENDONSA

Paul Mendonsa (Partner) earned an undergraduate degree in computer and electrical engineering before attending law school and working in Silicon Valley during the Internet Boom of the 1990s and early 2000s.  Paul started his career at a law firm providing services related to computer/processor architectures and networking technologies for a major Silicon Valley corporation as well as a variety of smaller startup entities and research groups.

Mark C. Van Ness (Partner) is a registered patent attorney who has been in private practice providing patent law services to clients since 2000.  Mark has provided patent preparation and prosecution services and other intellectual property services for clients in a wide variety of technologies, including data communications, storage, and processing; telecommunications; multimedia signal operations; microprocessors; electronic circuits and devices; optical technologies; and other software and hardware technologies.

ASHLEY R. ESSICK

Ashley R. Essick (Partner) is a registered patent attorney whose practice focuses on intellectual property protection in a number of technology areas, such as computer hardware/software, communications and networks, virtualization, user interface design and experience, content-sharing platforms, cryptography and security, databases, image processing, and electronics. Ashley has worked with numerous clients, both domestic and foreign, ranging from industry leaders to startups to solo inventors.
